Faculty Pub Night: At a Crossroads: The Educational Leadership Professoriate in the 21st Century, by Martha McCarthy
What do LMU faculty do after class? Find out at Faculty Pub Night.
At the third Pub Night of the semester, Dr. Martha McCarthy, Presidential Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership, will be discussing her book At a Crossroads: The Educational Leadership Professoriate in the 21st Century (Information Age Publishing, 2011).
Professor McCarthy’s research is in primarily educational law and policy, and the evolution and reform of leadership preparation programs. She has conducted research on most aspects of educational law, focusing recently on First Amendment issues pertaining to church/state relations and expression rights of students and school employees. Her recent research on leadership preparation programs has entailed a national study (with Don Hackmann), At a Crossroads: The Educational Leadership Professoriate in the 21st Century, which examines educational leadership units and the characteristics, activities and attitudes of educational leadership faculty members.
Her research is not only of importance to those in the field of education, but her findings have important implications for faculty across all disciplines.
All Faculty Pub Nights are free and open to the public. Pub refreshments and snacks will be served, and copies of At A Crossroads will be available for sale and signing.
